Grant County Public Utility District is one of the 50 largest public electrical utilities in the U.S. The utility operates two hydroelectric dams on the Columbia River that generate more than 2,000 megawatts and provides fiber optic communications to the region. The utility is experiencing high growth in response to the location of world-class data center facilities in the area. eBid Systems deployed an integrated contract sourcing and management system that allows Grant County PUD to track contracts from the time a requisition is created, through the competitive sourcing process, and after award.

 The eBid Systems solution enabled Clark Public Utilities to spend less and do more. The savings in hard copy distribution of bid documents alone cuts our operational costs and provides a healthy return on investment. eBid Systems provides more than that, though; our staff can now devote more time and thought into planning and negotiating contracts and less time looking for fax numbers and making copies.

Clark Public Utilities is a customer-owned utility providing electric and water service in Clark County, Washington. They currently provide electric service to more than 180,000 customers and water service to over 30,000 homes and businesses. eBid Systems implemented a solution for Clark PUD in 2002 that provides an integrated and centralized system for supplier qualfication data, communication of business opportunities to qualified vendors, and management of supplier contracts.

 Using eBid Systems substantially reduced administrative expense and time needed for document copying and collating. The system facilitates a sealed bid environment while maintaining an open line of communication with all bidders. In our first use of the program we saved $10,000 because the winning bidder could lower its price right up to the bid opening. We are very pleased with our switch to e-bidding and with how smoothly the transition occurred.

North Penn Water Authority operates water storage, treatment, and distribution facilities that serve more than 30,000 customers in eastern Pennsylvannia.
